Deep tissue massage focuses on the deeper layers of muscle and fascia, releasing areas of chronic tension and compacted muscle fibres. Using forearms, elbows, reinforced thumbs and palms, the therapist applies strong, steady pressure, working with or across the muscle fibres.

Deep tissue massage can feel intense but the release afterwards can be amazing. I will work with you and your breathing during the treatment, checking the pressure as I work into areas of tension. Working deeply brings oxygenated blood with nutrients to muscles that are tight and congested, helping them relax and heal. Deeper massage also helps to release toxins stored in the muscles, for this reason it is advisable to drink plenty of water after.

What to expect : Before a deep tissue massage treatment, I will sit down with you and take a full consultation, which includes your medical history. This enables me to cater the treatment to your needs. I then leave the room to allow you to get undressed and lie down comfortably under the towels on the couch. I use oils to do the massage, uncovering each part of the body individually so that you are kept warm and modest throughout. After the treatment, I will talk through some aftercare advice to enable you to get the most from your treatment.
